Britney SpearsTroubled star Britney Spears held an emergency meeting with ex-husband Kevin Federline this past Wednesday to discuss their custody battle over their two sons.

The singer met up with her former partner in an attempt to resolve their issues before they have to appear in court on Monday. Reports claim that the meeting did not go as Spears had hoped, as Federline rejected her proposals.

A source said: “Britney asked for (the meeting). She wants to put an end to this public debacle. However, Kevin (has) refused. He needs more money so he’s determined to win this.”

But another source, close to Federline, told People magazine: “He’s not going for additional child support in the court papers that were filed. It’s not about the money.”

The X Factor logoMen of taste and style “X Factor” judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh have slammed Britney Spears’ performance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The duo said that the troubled singer wouldn’t have got through to the second round of their TV talent show with the rendition she gave on Sunday night.

Cowell is quoted as saying: “If I had been looking after Britney I’d have taken one look at her in rehearsals and I wouldn’t have allowed her on stage.

“The problem she has now is that she could have killed her career. It’s difficult to come back from that performance, for a while at least.”

Walsh agreed, commenting: “Britney wouldn’t make it through one audition of X Factor because she can’t sing live.”

Spears’ comeback show at the awards ceremony was an embarrassment and it was reported yesterday that the popstar was seen backstage after the show, crying to herself.
