Snow Patrol gets sued
Chart-toppers Snow Patrol are being sued by former bassist Mark McClelland seeking 25% of the band’s earnings since he was dismissed in March 2005. McClelland claims he was unlawfully dismissed by his ex-bandmates.
He is seeking a share of the royalties from the Eyes Open album and money from when the band supported U2 on their world tour.
Snow Patrol formed in 1994 when McClelland and lead singer Gary Lightbody met at Dundee University while students.Their second album Eyes Open topped the album charts in both the UK and Ireland and has now been on the UK album chart for 71 weeks.
