Better MP3 sound coming
Two british pop producers have worked out a way of getting better sound on MP3 players like the iPod. The first example of this is on Gabrielle’s comeback song “Why”.
The “poduction” remix of the track is supposed to be easier to listen to on earphones, and combats the loss of quality found in MP3 files.
Digital music files such as MP3s, Windows Media and Apple’s AAC format contain, on average, only 10% of the information from a full-quality CD recording and stripping out this much data leads to a reduction in sound quality.
The BoilerHouse Boys have developed a technique to compensate for this and provide a better audio experience through earphones.
